Indigo Bloom
Book One of The Laurel Series
by Colbri Mayne
Mariah Knox thought she had her future mapped out: nursing school, an engagement ring, and the high school sweetheart she’d loved since she was fifteen. Then she caught her fiancé with her best friend, the girl from right over the backyard fence, and Cincinnati stopped feeling like home. A summer job at Dolewood Assisted Living in Laurel, Mississippi, is supposed to be a chance to heal, not a second chance at love. But Dylan Hudson is local, protective, and ready to love her long before she’s ready to trust again. Their connection catches fire, and just as Mariah begins to imagine a future with him, a coworker’s dangerous obsession turns one rain-slicked night into a nightmare. Rescued by Dylan and the family that has become her own, Mariah must face rumors, old wounds, and complicated family ties that threaten the life she’s building. Starting over in Laurel won’t be easy. But like the wild indigo that blooms in the fields there, love with deep enough roots can survive any storm. Indigo Bloom is a small-town romance about betrayal, second chances, and the kind of love that weathers everything. It’s the first book in the Laurel Series.

Indigo Bloom Playlist
I can’t write without music. Honestly, half the scenes in this book started with a song on the radio and a “what if” that wouldn’t leave me alone.
So, of course, Mariah and Dylan needed a playlist. These were the songs on every station back then. The ones you belted out with the windows down, and the ones you cried to after a breakup and swore you’d never play again (and then played on repeat anyway). Some of them are hers. Some are his. A few belong to both.

I slip on a lacy black halter top and study myself in the mirror, turning one way and then the other.“Oh, you should totally wear that top. I love it,” Lacy says from my bed, flipping through a magazine like she has all the time in the world.“You think so?” I smooth the fabric against my stomach, then wrinkle my nose at my reflection. “Aaron usuall…
