Colyn Moore is an experienced outdoorsman and wilderness instructor dedicated to teaching self-reliance in the backcountry. With decades of experience navigating remote terrains, Colyn has seen firsthand how digital dependency can lead to dangerous situations. He developed the Spatial Awareness Method to help hikers of all levels build a deeper, more intuitive connection with their environment. When he is not writing or teaching survival workshops, Colyn can be found exploring the rugged peaks of the American West or volunteering with local search and rescue teams. He believes that true freedom is found when you no longer need a satellite to tell you where you are. Land Navigation Essentials is his contribution to preserving essential outdoor skills for the next generation of explorers.
