Ten steps from hearing Scripture to a holy, serving life

by Ian Robinson

God has already spoken. The question is whether you will answer. This practical tutorial walks you through a ten-step response to God's Word: gratitude for unearned mercy, honesty about what your conscience already knows, tearing down walls that protect habitual sin, and trusting the Holy Spirit when willpower has failed. You will hear the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, why continual hearing of Scripture builds living faith, and why holiness cannot be redefined to fit your comfort. Confidence is anchored in Christ and the sixty-six books of the Bible, not in trendy voices or unverified writings. Seek the Spirit through plain, surrendered prayer at home and in church. Then let faith become love: food pantries, clothing drives, open-air witness, and personal testimony. If you are ready to stop ignoring demanding commands and start walking in them, this guide is your next step.

PSALM 107:1

DO THIS

  • Name two or three specific times God brought you through trouble.
  • Thank Him for patience you did not deserve.
  • Ask: What is His patience giving me time to address?

PRAY

“Lord, thank You for another day. I did not earn it. Show me what You have been patiently waiting for me to change.”

Recognize What God Has Already Convinced You Of

STEP 2Goal: identify the truths you know and are tempted to resist.Have you ever heard a sermon, read a verse, or listened to a friend and felt certain: this is God speaking to me? That inner certainty is what it means to be convinced. God knows the moment it happened. You cannot stand before Him and say, “I didn’t know.”Once you are convinced, the…
