What happens when you rigorously examine the foundations of reality, truth, and human mortality? In a world saturated with competing worldviews—from secular materialism to relativistic pluralism—many dismiss faith as mere emotion. Yet the fundamental questions of existence refuse to disappear. Why is there something rather than nothing? How can we account for the laws of logic, absolute morality, and human consciousness? And when confronted with our own mortality, what is our ultimate destiny? In The Unavoidable Question, Jacob A. Eckert offers a compelling, analytical defense of the Christian worldview and the historic Gospel. Utilizing the Transcendental Argument for God and rigorous philosophical inquiry, Eckert demonstrates that the preconditions of intelligibility are uniquely grounded in the God of Scripture. Moving from foundational philosophy to profound biblical theology, this book uses the moral law to diagnose the human condition, unpacks the infinite offense of sin against a holy Creator, and reveals why Jesus Christ—fully God and fully man—is the only logically consistent and sufficient Savior. Whether you are an honest skeptic deconstructing inherited beliefs, a curious seeker, or a believer desiring a deeper intellectual grounding, The Unavoidable Question provides the clarity, logic, and pastoral depth needed to navigate eternity's most critical dilemma.

You could believe that we are reincarnated, or that our souls go to some kind of paradise, or that we become one with the universe, or that we simply return to the dirt, or any number of options.

Alternatively, you may believe in Heaven and Hell, but have no assurance of where you are going. It’s also possible that you haven’t thought enough about God and the afterlife to have formed much of an opinion. No matter what your particular view happens to be, I would like to pose another question: If Heaven is a place where you constantly experience love, joy, peace, and happiness that is beyond your greatest imagination, and if Heaven exists, then would you want to know what it would take for you to enter Heaven?

MY OBJECTIVES

My goal in writing this is to encourage you to reflect on your own mortality and to let you know how you can be assured that you will end up in Heaven. You may have already figured out where I’m going with this from all the talk about God, and Heaven, and Hell, and eternity, and what happens to us when we die. But in case you haven’t, I wi
